According to prosecutors, the victim, who had recently obtained a restraining order against Pasqual, was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries.
Pasqual, known for his appearances in popular TV shows like “How I Met Your Mother” and “Archive 81,” reportedly fled the scene after the incident. However, authorities were able to apprehend him later at a U.S.-Mexico border check point in Texas.
Pasqual, a 34-year-old individual, has been accused of multiple charges including attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent. It is important to note that an arraignment date has not yet been scheduled for Pasqual.
LA County District Attorney George Gascón expressed his condolences and support for the victim in a statement regarding the tragic incident. He mentioned that his thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with her during this difficult time. Gascón emphasized the commitment of his office, including the Bureau of Victim Services, to provide the victim with the necessary support and resources as she begins her healing process. He acknowledged the significant physical and emotional trauma she has endured and recognized the long and challenging journey that lies ahead for her.
“This horrific incident serves as a clear reminder of the grave risks associated with domestic violence,” Gascón emphasized. “We are committed to ensuring that the person responsible for this atrocious act is held responsible for their actions.”
If Pasqual is convicted, prosecutors have stated that he could potentially face a life sentence in prison.
