Gunman opens fire at grocery store, leaving 3 dead and 10 injured

According to authorities, a mass shooting at a grocery store in Arkansas on Friday resulted in the death of three individuals, while ten others were left injured.

Arkansas State Police announced that they will be charging the suspect, who was shot by law enforcement, with capital murder.

According to authorities, the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, located approximately 70 miles south of Little Rock, was the site of a shooting incident that occurred at 11:30 a.m. Police arrived at the scene in response to the incident.

According to the authorities, three innocent people lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries, some of whom are in an extremely critical state.

According to police, two law enforcement officers were shot and fortunately, they only sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, aside from the 13 individuals who were either killed or wounded, the single perpetrator was also shot by law enforcement and received medical attention for injuries that were not life-threatening.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 44-year-old Travis Eugene Posey from New Edinburg has been identified as the suspect and is currently in custody at the Ouachita County Detention Center. The police have confirmed that Posey will face three counts of capital murder and additional charges may be added in due course.

According to the authorities, the situation has been controlled.

After being briefed on the shooting, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated her knowledge on the matter.

State and local police will receive assistance from the FBI as personnel are being sent to the scene.
