On Monday, the funeral service will be held for the 14-year-old boy who tragically lost his life in a car accident along with his parents, younger brother, and a fellow student.
Brandon Crawford tragically lost his life in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 75 on May 19th.
Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of not only Ryan Mason but also his parents, Erin and Dakarai Mason, his 6-year-old brother Titus, and 21-year-old Kennesaw State student Aimee Odom.
On Monday, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Cartersville to honor and remember Crawford. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
The funeral arrangements for his parents and brother have not yet been made public. Odom’s family held a burial service for her on Friday.
Crawford was a freshman on the football team at Cass High School, where he also participated in the international studies magnet program.
CHS Counselor Andrew Griffin expressed his admiration for the student, stating that he brought immense joy to those around him. According to Griffin, the student was not only a blessing but also a valuable asset to the school.
“Brandon Crawford embodied the true spirit of a passionate athlete,” Coach Steve Gates fondly recalls. “Every day, he would sprint from the main building to the field house, fueled by his immense love for the game. His teammates adored him for his unwavering dedication to mastering football and his commitment to excellence both on and off the field. It’s worth mentioning that he achieved exceptional grades in all four of his classes, earning him the title of the perfect Colonel.”
Tori Lawson, a mother rushing to be with her 2-year-old son at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, suffered critical injuries in the accident.
Authorities are currently investigating the crash to determine the cause.
