KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Just before midnight on June 12, police responded to a call regarding an armed individual at East 55th Street and 71 Highway. While en route, they received several additional 911 calls reporting a shooting at a gas station near East 55th and Prospect Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man inside a car who had been shot. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest that there was an altercation involving an unknown number of individuals which escalated into gunfire.
As of now, a suspect has not been identified in the case.
Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel are actively gathering evidence and collecting witness statements to aid in the investigation.
