Fatal Crash in Willington Claims Life of 19-Year-Old Woman and Injures 4 Others

The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, April 27, at approximately 10:15 p.m. in the town of Willington, located in Tolland County.

According to Connecticut State Police, a 2007 Subaru Legacy from Bethel in Fairfield County was heading southbound on River Road when the driver lost control. As a result, the vehicle overturned, with all five occupants inside.

The police have reported that 19-year-old Maria Damata, one of the passengers, suffered severe injuries and tragically lost her life.

The driver, a 21-year-old man, and three passengers – a 20-year-old man, 19-year-old man, and 20-year-old woman – were taken to Hartford Hospital due to suspected minor injuries.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
