Expected heavy snowfall in New York City on Monday evening

The National Weather Service released a report on Monday at 7:21 p.m. warning of heavy snow in Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, and Ontario counties until 8:15 p.m.

The weather service reports that a line of heavy snow is currently moving southeast at 15 MPH, stretching from near Ontario to near Churchville to near Middleport. This information was provided at 7:20 p.m.

The warning affects several areas, including Rochester, Greece, Irondequoit, Clarence, Chili, Lockport, Batavia, Geneva, Canandaigua, Geneseo, East Rochester, Medina, Webster, Fairport, Brighton, Gates-North Gates, Darien Lakes State Park, Ontario, Henrietta, and Penfield. Additionally, it includes specific sections of Interstate 390 between exits 8 and 12, as well as Interstate 90 between exits 42 and 49.

According to the weather service, it is important to be prepared for snow or ice covered roads in winter weather situations as conditions can deteriorate rapidly. They advise drivers to slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination.
