Billionaire Elon Musk believes that the future of the United States hangs in the balance, with the outcome of this year’s elections being a crucial factor. According to Musk, it is imperative for the GOP to emerge victorious if the country is to have any hope of success moving forward.

In a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Elon Musk expressed a shift in his political views. He stated, “I voted 100% Dem until a few years ago. Now, I believe we need a red wave or else America is in trouble.”

Musk has been vocal in expressing his criticism of President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party. He has strongly criticized Biden’s handling of the Southern border crisis and has accused the Democrats of being influenced by the unions.

Elon Musk, who revealed that he cast his vote for Biden in 2020, expressed his disappointment with the President when Tesla was not invited to participate in the 2021 electric-vehicle summit.

While Elon Musk has made it clear that he is not a supporter of Joe Biden, he has not publicly endorsed Donald Trump, Biden’s rival in the 2020 presidential election.

During The New York Times Dealbook Summit in November, Elon Musk expressed his hesitation in voting for Joe Biden. He clarified that this does not necessarily mean he would vote for Donald Trump either.

According to sources familiar with the meeting, Trump and Musk crossed paths in Florida on March 3. The purpose of the meeting, as reported by The New York Times, was for Trump to explore potential new donors for his campaign.

Elon Musk confirmed that the meeting did take place, but he emphasized that he is not a donor to Donald Trump.

During an interview with former CNN host Don Lemon on March 18, Elon Musk casually mentioned that he was at a breakfast at a friend’s place when Donald Trump unexpectedly showed up. Musk’s nonchalant statement suggests that his encounter with the former president was a brief and unexpected event.

In the interview, Musk made it clear that he has no intention of covering his legal expenses in any manner. He also emphasized that the individual in question did not approach him for financial support.

In spite of that, Musk has not dismissed the possibility of endorsing Trump in 2024.

During an interview with Lemon, Musk expressed his uncertainty about endorsing a candidate in the final stretch of the election. He emphasized the importance of making a thoughtful decision before publicly endorsing anyone. Musk stated, “If I do decide to endorse a candidate, I would provide a detailed explanation of my reasons.”

Business Insider reached out to representatives for Musk but did not receive an immediate response.
