Elon Musk Pushing To Vote Out Texas County DA

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is urging residents of Travis County, Texas, specifically those in the city of Austin, to participate in the upcoming Democratic primary and vote to replace the current district attorney.

Defense attorney Jeremy Sylestine, who is running against incumbent Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza (D), shared a message on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. In his message, Sylestine urged residents in the greater Austin area to exercise their right to vote and support a new District Attorney. Elon Musk, while reposting Sylestine’s note, apologized for the interruption and encouraged people to participate in the election.

Musk has a connection to the Austin area, where Tesla’s headquarters is situated.

In a recent development, a Delaware judge has rejected Elon Musk’s remarkable compensation package for Tesla, which was valued at a staggering $55.8 billion. The judge’s ruling was based on the unfair negotiation process, as Musk had complete control over the board that approved the package.

The ruling dealt a major blow to Musk, as he now faces the challenge of relocating several of his companies from Delaware. Just last month, the billionaire made the decision to move his spacecraft and satellite communications company, SpaceX, to Texas as its new state of incorporation.

Shortly after the Delaware ruling, Elon Musk turned to X (formerly known as Twitter, which he acquired in 2022) and posed a question to his followers: Should Tesla also consider changing its state of incorporation to the Lone Star State?

In a recent poll on the platform, an overwhelming 87 percent of votes were in favor of the proposition.

Last month, the CEO announced that the electric car company will be conducting a shareholder vote to decide on relocating its site of incorporation.

In a recent move, Elon Musk relocated his neurotechnology company Neuralink’s state of incorporation from Delaware to Nevada.

Garza, elected in 2020, received backlash at the beginning of his term for indicting 17 officers who were involved in the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020. However, he later decided to drop the charges.

According to Fox 7 Austin, Sylestine, a primary challenger, is running with the promise of bringing more transparency to the community and providing additional resources for individuals dealing with mental health issues.
