BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Benton County in Tennessee is experiencing a surge in tourism.

The severe weather event that occurred in Middle Tennessee on May 8 and 9 resulted in the confirmation of ten tornadoes.

A tornado has been confirmed in Benton County, according to the latest reports.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado, with winds reaching 85 mph, made landfall during the early morning hours of May 9. The tornado’s path was approximately 100 yards wide and stretched for a distance of over 1.30 miles.

From May 8 and 9, a total of nine additional tornadoes have been verified, impacting various counties such as Maury County, Robertson County, Giles County, Lincoln County, and Rutherford County.
