Downtown Atlanta restaurant of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks shuts down due to water crisis

The main location of a beloved Atlanta establishment is shutting its doors.

Derrick Hayes Sr., the CEO and Founder of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, has recently made the decision not to reopen the Forsyth Street location in downtown Atlanta.

Hayes took to Instagram to bring attention to the Atlanta water crisis that caused numerous problems for businesses in downtown and midtown Atlanta.

According to Hayes, reopening this location is not possible due to the detrimental effects of the water. Despite their efforts, it has been a challenging journey to revive the location, but unfortunately, it is just not feasible.

Originally from West Philadelphia, Hayes launched his inaugural location at a Shell Gas Station situated in Dunwoody.

According to him, he holds the belief that a brighter future awaits the restaurant.

The restaurant can be found in several locations, including Doraville, Forest Park, Lawrenceville, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Charlotte.
