DeKalb County will be demolishing yet another blighted property on Friday morning as part of its continuous efforts to improve the county’s cleanliness.
At 10 a.m., a crew will demolish a residence located at 618 Simone Way. The county has shared photos showcasing the presence of broken windows, a damaged roof, and scattered debris in the front yard.
The county has torn down at least four blighted homes since April.
They have also demolished properties on Linecrest Road and Peachcrest Road. Additionally, a home near Stone Mountain was demolished following an investigation by Channel 2 Action News.
Homeowners contacted Investigative Reporter Ashli Lincoln from Channel 2 regarding a situation where a man had been residing in the driveway of the Highfield Drive property for almost a year. The man’s mother, who owned the property, passed away, and the property itself was ravaged by a fire last year.
