On Tuesday night, a tragic incident occurred at a DeKalb County apartment complex where a teenager lost their life due to gun violence.
As the scene unfolded, a detective couldn’t help but express their frustration, “It’s high time we realize that enough is enough.”
After conducting investigations, the detectives were able to pinpoint a suspect, who then disclosed to them that he had hidden a firearm in his father’s vehicle. The police attempted to confiscate the car, which resulted in a heated altercation.
The suspect’s father was informed by a detective that the words in question were indeed spoken by his son. The detective made it clear that having a conversation with the suspect would not alter this fact.
According to the suspect’s father, his son is not involved in the shooting incident.
“The suspect’s father was determined to speak with his son as he exclaimed, ‘You aren’t taking my car!’ According to witnesses, four boys had exited the car and began shooting.”
As of now, no charges have been announced by the police regarding the shooting.
According to a DeKalb detective, there is a lack of conversation within the community and it’s important for them to speak up. “Nobody is talking,” the detective stated.
