Deadly fire breaks out at a residence in Coweta County, leaving 6 people dead and 5 injured

A tragic incident occurred in Coweta County where a home was engulfed in flames and resulted in the loss of six lives. Currently, five individuals are receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

From above, the scene on the 1300 block of Macedonia Road was captured by NewsChopper 2. A significant response from the fire department and EMS was observed in the area.

Six individuals have been confirmed dead by the Coweta County Coroner’s Office, as reported by Channel 2 Action News.

Our team, consisting of a reporter and photographer, is currently present at the location, actively collecting fresh updates for Channel 2 Action News at Noon.

The identities of the victims, including their names and ages, have not yet been made public by the authorities.

At exactly 4:57 a.m., the fire department received the initial report regarding the fire.

Upon their arrival, the firefighters observed that a significant portion of the house was engulfed in flames. They had arrived nine minutes after the initial call.

After extinguishing the fire, the crew initiated a search and rescue operation for the 11 individuals residing in the house.

Grady Memorial Hospital has received five individuals who were injured, with some of them sustaining “serious” injuries.

A firefighter is currently receiving medical attention for minor injuries.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
