Dashcam Captures Spectacular Lightning Strikes on I-70

Severe thunderstorms, including multiple tornado warnings, swept through southern Kansas and portions of Missouri on Monday evening and into Tuesday morning (KCTV).

The storms unleashed torrential rain and unleashed dazzling bolts of lightning, captivating viewers across the entire region.

Jason and Tammy Ledgerwood, who are avid viewers of KCTV, were driving on I-70 towards Grain Valley when they captured an awe-inspiring lightning display on their dash camera.

The National Weather Service has confirmed the occurrence of two tornadoes in the Kansas City area. One of them, an EF-1, hit the Grain Valley area with estimated peak winds reaching 100 miles per hour.
