Colorado Official Targets Clarence Thomas Following Supreme Court Defeat

Colorado Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, wasted no time in criticizing Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, following the Court’s decision in favor of former President Donald Trump.

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a recent opinion, has sided with Trump in a 14th Amendment challenge from Colorado. This decision overturns the previous ruling by the state’s Supreme Court, which deemed him ineligible for the ballot due to his involvement in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The court made its decision just a day before Super Tuesday, the most significant primary day of the 2024 election cycle. On this day, voters in 16 states, including Colorado, as well as one territory, will cast their ballots.

Maine, along with two other states, is eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on the validity of Trump’s candidacy. Additionally, Maine will also be participating in the Super Tuesday voting. Furthermore, Illinois has set the date for its primary on March 19.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Griswold, a Democrat, was questioned about her thoughts on the Supreme Court being partisan after the ruling. In response, she highlighted the significant concerns surrounding the court, including the involvement of Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Justice Thomas.

“I believe that this court has faced significant controversies, including concerns about Clarence Thomas’s wife’s involvement, undisclosed gifts, and several major decisions that I strongly oppose. These decisions, in my opinion, undermine the basic human rights and fundamental freedoms of American citizens,” expressed Griswold.

Ginni Thomas faced scrutiny in 2022 when she revealed in an interview that she had attended a rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6 before the Capitol riot occurred. However, she made it clear that she had no involvement in planning the event and left early.
