Cold rain expected to impact northwestern N.J. this week, according to weather experts

According to forecasters, there is a prediction of freezing rain in northwestern New Jersey from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued an alert regarding the expected precipitation, which will impact certain areas in Morris and Warren counties, as well as the entirety of Sussex County. Meteorologists have cautioned that there could be ice accumulation of up to one-tenth of an inch in the affected region.

Weather experts have issued a winter weather advisory for northeastern Pennsylvania, warning of potential ice accumulation of up to a quarter inch.

Last week, two winter storms hit the state, bringing over 6 inches of snow to certain areas and causing temperatures to drop below 20 degrees during the weekend.

After the storms, temperatures have become milder, and they are predicted to reach almost 60 degrees by the week’s end. On Monday, the highs were in the mid-to-high 30s, but on Tuesday and Wednesday, they will mostly be in the low 40s.

As the week progresses, the temperatures will rise, reaching the low 50s on Thursday and the upper 50s on Friday, according to the weather service.
