Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into a distressing incident involving a child who was struck by a car.
DeKalb County police responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at an apartment complex on Flat Shoals Road on Tuesday evening.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 5-year-old child who had suffered severe head trauma.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident is cooperating and remained at the scene.
