Early Thursday morning, a Burger King in Brooklyn faced an unexpected visitor when an MTA bus crashed into it. The driver of the bus suffered a medical episode while on duty, leading to the unfortunate incident.
At the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway and Dahill Road, a crash occurred around 12:10 a.m. and it was captured on surveillance video.
According to the police, the Burger King was hit by a bus when the 60-year-old driver lost control and swerved across the median.
According to reports, the driver, who is said to have a medical condition, was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.
At the time of the bus crash, two women aged 23 and 60 were present on the bus but thankfully remained uninjured. According to the officers, one of the passengers bravely stepped forward to assist the driver during the incident.
As the bus picked up speed, one of the passengers recalled the need to act fast. “You have to think quick on your feet,” they shared, “and before I knew it, we had arrived at Burger King.”
The Burger King incident involving the MTA bus has been resolved as the bus has been successfully removed from the fast food chain’s premises.
Unfortunately, the accident occurred when the Burger King establishment was closed.
