A man from Conyers admitted his guilt on Tuesday in the case involving the invasion of a senior citizen’s home and an armed robbery in Brookhaven.
DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston has recently revealed that a Conyers man has been convicted by guilty plea in a case involving the armed robbery of an 88-year-old woman in her own home.
Antavious Bailey, aged 38, has pleaded guilty to a series of serious charges including Home Invasion, Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Abuse of an Elder Person, False Imprisonment, Identity Fraud, Financial Transaction Card Fraud, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon on Monday afternoon.
The charges were a result of a robbery that took place on August 2, 2022.
The Brookhaven Police Department received a report of an armed robbery at a residence on Parkridge Drive at approximately 12:15 p.m.
The man demanded the victim’s wallet and proceeded to search through her purse.
Bailey allegedly confiscated the woman’s cell phone, driver’s license, health insurance cards, cash, debit card, and credit cards during the investigation.
The victim managed to break free from the home and sought help at a neighbor’s house after Bailey left.
Bailey was identified as the renter of the vehicle based on the rental paperwork. Additionally, store surveillance videos captured him using the stolen cards of the victim shortly after the robbery.
