Several brands with Alabama roots collaborated in Montgomery on Wednesday to raise money for a noble cause.
The “Buy Alabama’s Best” campaign aims to promote products manufactured in Alabama. Presently, the campaign boasts the participation of more than 50 companies.
Some of the profits generated by these companies contribute to the funding of the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. There are numerous brands that people may not be aware have their roots in our own state.
“We have been operating in Alabama for many years,” explains Matt Cottingham of Conecuh Sausage. “The brand has experienced significant growth during this time.”
Other local companies in attendance, including Blue Bell, Milo’s, and Coca-Cola, also participated in the event. Lala Hampton emphasized that buying locally from these brands has another important benefit in addition to supporting Children’s of Alabama.
Buying local is crucial because it helps to keep money within the community, according to Hampton. He emphasizes the benefits of supporting local businesses, stating that by doing so, the community can contribute to the education of their children. While acknowledging the convenience of online shopping platforms like Amazon Prime, Hampton suggests that opting for local purchases can lead to significant savings.
According to Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur), it is not enough for people to simply purchase goods from local businesses; they should also make an effort to support and stay within their local communities.
“Return to Alabama, because our state needs you. We require your intelligence and expertise to contribute towards the growth and development of our community. Whether it’s establishing a family or pursuing a career, we want you to be a part of our journey in building a brighter future for Alabama.”
