In Los Angeles, authorities made a grim discovery in the backyard of a residence – the body of an individual who had been reported missing for almost half a year. The victim, who had been absent since June, has not yet been identified by officials.
Acting on a tip, investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Tuesday (November 21) suspecting the presence of a body in the yard. During the search, they discovered human remains buried near the swimming pool area.
LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton stated that the property is quite sizable, approximately an acre in size. Recent changes may have been made to certain areas towards the back near the swimming pool. It was in this particular area where the remains were found earlier in the day.
Police have apprehended 48-year-old Russell Robinson for the charge of murder. He was arrested at a different location and is currently in custody.
Addressing reporters, Hamilton stated that they believed there was a connection between the individual in question and the homicide currently under investigation. He also stated that the individual was directly responsible for the crime.
According to Hamilton, they have identified the motive behind the killing, but he did not provide any further details. Hamilton stated that they were confident in having the correct individual in custody, and assured the community in North Hills, Los Angeles that there was no longer any danger.
