Biden cautions that Trump, being convicted, is undermining the credibility of the justice system by claiming it’s rigged.

On Monday night, during a fundraising event in Connecticut, President Joe Biden expressed his belief that Donald Trump is attacking the U.S. justice system in an effort to convince the public that it is rigged. The President also pointed out that this is happening now that Trump has become the first American president to be convicted of a crime.

A jury in New York delivered a verdict on Friday, finding Donald Trump, the expected Republican nominee for president, guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records. This was done to hide the payments made to an adult film actress as hush money to keep their alleged affair concealed from the voting public.

During the trial, the former president vehemently criticized the judge and prosecution, and attempted to shift the blame onto Biden. Even after being convicted, Trump has maintained his innocence and labeled the verdict a “disgrace,” while also claiming that the trial was “rigged.”

During a fundraising event in Greenwich, Conn. on Monday night, Biden addressed the crowd and expressed that the current election campaign has entered uncharted territory. He pointed out that for the first time in American history, a former president who is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency. This statement highlights the unprecedented and unique circumstances of the current election cycle.

“He said that the most concerning issue, even more so than the aforementioned, is the complete attack that Donald Trump is launching on the American justice system. The former President is trying to convince the American people that the justice system is not functioning properly, which is extremely harmful,” he emphasized.

He stated that it is dangerous and risky for anyone to claim that it is rigged.

According to Biden, Trump seems to have had some sort of mental breakdown after losing the 2020 election, as if something inside him “snapped.” This has caused him to become increasingly unhinged, and it’s clear that he’s struggling to accept the reality of the situation. In Biden’s words, it’s as if the situation is “literally driving him crazy.”

Biden pointed out Trump’s incendiary comments, including his statement in a December town hall in Iowa that he wouldn’t be a dictator “except for Day One” to deal with the border and “drill, drill, drill.” “Listen to his rantings,” Biden said.

During an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Trump was asked if he would use his power for retribution if he were to be re-elected.

Biden inquired, “What sort of man is this?”

During the fundraiser, Biden highlighted some of the achievements of his administration, such as capping insulin costs at $35 for seniors. He also mentioned that if he is re-elected for a second term, this benefit will be extended to all Americans. His speech lasted for approximately 20 minutes.

In June 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade, which removed federal protections of abortion. The blame for this repeal was placed on Trump by the speaker, who also promised to reinstate these protections.

According to Biden, Trump’s alleged labeling of U.S. soldiers who died in war as “losers and suckers” is unacceptable.

Biden firmly stated, “He doesn’t deserve to be president, regardless of my candidacy.”
