Atlanta police responded to a call on Wednesday night regarding an incident at the 3000 block of Middleton Road Northwest.
Upon reaching the scene, they discovered an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound.
He had to be rushed to the hospital to receive medical treatment.
During the investigation, it was determined that the victim had been shot by another individual amidst a heated altercation.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police.
The investigation is still in progress.
