Authorities in the area taking action against a retail theft operation focused on Home Depot and Target stores

Mocobizscene – Law enforcement agencies in Northeast Florida and Georgia are actively working together to combat a retail theft ring that has been specifically targeting Home Depot and Target stores in our region.

In 2022, the unfolding of events began gradually. The police intercepted phone conversations between two suspects, wherein they meticulously discussed the targets to steal from, the most lucrative items, and the locations that presented the least difficulty to pilfer.

Eventually, the method by which they allegedly accomplished this was exposed, resulting in the incarceration of several individuals.

A group of retail thieves stands accused of pilfering over $86,000 from two stores across three states.

Allen Yuill, a regular customer at Home Depot, expressed his concerns about taking risks when engaging in activities like this.

Christopher Coats, Kimberly Thompson, and Brian Wallace were identified by investigators as participants in an organized theft ring. While reports indicate that there are at least five other individuals involved in the conspiracy, Action News Jax is currently gathering additional information on all those suspected to be part of the operation.

As of last June, Home Depot and Target were the retailers that experienced at least 72 incidents.

Yuill and other customers were left baffled when Home Depot lost $85,000 in the process.
