On Tuesday afternoon, authorities took a suspect into custody in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Brantley.
Brantley Police Department Assistant Chief Drew Morgan apprehended Shawn Garner, a 20-year-old resident of Luverne, immediately following the Maple Street shooting that left a juvenile in critical condition.
Assistant Chief Drew Morgan from the Brantley Police Department (BPD) has stated that the shooting occurred due to a domestic dispute.
Morgan reported that they had a single victim of gunshot wound. The incident was caused by a domestic dispute involving a minor in a romantic relationship.
Around 2 p.m., the Brantley Police Department and deputies from the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office swiftly reacted to an emergency call concerning a victim who had been shot.
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found a young victim inside a vehicle, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Brantley Rescue provided prompt medical aid, and the victim was immediately airlifted to a hospital in Montgomery for further treatment.
Authorities have arrested Garner for attempted murder, first-degree burglary, and violating laws prohibiting firearm possession. He is presently confined at the Crenshaw County Detention Facility.
Officials are currently investigating a shooting incident, and due to the victim’s young age, their identity remains undisclosed.
