Arrests made after firearms discovered at Newton high school, say deputies

Three students have been arrested by deputies in Newton County after guns were discovered inside a high school earlier this month.

The administrators at the school discovered a loaded extended magazine on one of the students on April 15, as revealed in a police report obtained by Channel 2 Action News.

Deputies conducted an investigation, leading to a lockdown being implemented at the school.

During their search of the student’s phone, they came across a video depicting two students brandishing firearms.

Another gun matching the one seen in the video was discovered when they located the second student.

According to the report, a total of three students were arrested.
