Arrest made in the shooting of a 20-year-old inside a Family Dollar store in Clayton County

The suspect who allegedly shot and killed a man inside a Family Dollar store in Clayton County earlier this year has been apprehended and is now in custody.

According to Lem Johnson IV’s family, the 20-year-old was left at a store on Riverdale Road by his mother in early February. Shortly after, an unidentified person walked into the store and shot him, as reported by Channel 2’s Michael Doudna.

On Thursday night, Sheriff Levon Allen declared the arrest of Montevious Garrison, a suspect in custody, in Clayton County.

In a statement, Allen confirmed that the #1 Murder suspect Montevious Garrison has been taken into custody. He also mentioned that he had a conversation with the victim’s mother and assured her that justice has been served. Allen further added that he had promised the mother that they would find the murderer soon, and they have kept their word.

Currently, he is in custody and is being held at the Coweta County Jail. He will soon be extradited to the Clayton County Jail.
