An Atlanta resident assisting in providing baby essentials to struggling mothers

An altruistic woman from the community is playing a vital role in distributing essential baby items to mothers in need throughout Georgia.

In an interview with Channel 2, Brittany Tenenbaum spoke to a woman who is making it possible for mothers to obtain essential items for their babies, ranging from clothing and formula to strollers and more.

Born and raised in Decatur, Chlorey Campbell has a passion for supporting new mothers by ensuring they have the necessary clothing and food for their infants.

Her non-profit organization, the Baby Pantry, is situated in midtown Atlanta and this is where all the magic happens.

Campbell expressed that fulfilling a need brings her immense joy.

Inside the pantry, you will find an array of essential items, including clothing, food, and baby necessities for newborns, all carefully stocked to ensure that families in need have access to the resources they require.

“The families are immensely grateful to have an organization that offers them basic care for their newborns. They find solace in the fact that they can rely on such an organization during the crucial stages of their baby’s growth and development. As one parent said, ‘Just to be able to have an organization that you can go to, to kind of get the basic care for your baby…so…they’re very thankful.'”

In 2015, Campbell established the organization after she donated items to a friend.

According to Campbell, the mother gave birth earlier than expected, leaving her unprepared for the arrival of the baby. The lack of family support added to her difficulties, and she was in dire need of essential baby supplies.

She began to feel that this was the path meant for her.

The year 2020 brought about unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Families found themselves in need of bigger ticket items such as car seats, cribs, and strollers, making the need for assistance even more crucial.

After realizing the need for more support for families, she took action and expanded the organization. Today, it has transformed into a fully-equipped baby pantry that provides families with all the essential items they need for their little ones.

Campbell and the baby pantry’s assistance has been a lifeline for these mothers, some of whom are on the brink of homelessness. Their gratitude knows no bounds.

Campbell expressed that the people he helps are consistently grateful and appreciative. Their thankfulness and the hugs they give him bring him immense joy. Fulfilling their needs is a rewarding experience for him.
