An American teenage girl, aged 14, disappears in Mexico

Last month, a Utah teenager went missing while visiting relatives in Mexico City. The search for the teenager has now included the assistance of the FBI.

According to the authorities in Mexico City, Elizabeth “Ely” Gonzalez, a 14-year-old girl, was last spotted on June 30 in the San Juan Tlihuaca neighborhood. The FBI has disclosed that despite the fact that her current location is unknown, investigators have reason to believe that she is still in Mexico.

According to FBI Special Agent Steven Hymas, authorities have viewed video evidence that suggests an adult coerced Gonzalez into entering a taxi. The incident occurred before her disappearance, and she has not been spotted since. KTVX, an ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City, reported this development.

Mexico City authorities announced the activation of an Amber Alert for Gonzalez on July 1st.

When she was last seen, Gonzalez donned dark blue jeans, a black hoodie, and black and white Vans. Her physical attributes include being 5-foot-1, weighing 140 pounds, and having brown eyes and brown hair.

Alma Soreque, Gonzalez’s mother, revealed that she had a conversation with her daughter on the morning when she disappeared.

According to Soreque, later that day, her family informed her that Gonzalez had gone to a nearby shop to get a soda but didn’t come back home.
