Mocobizscene- Three teenage girls who were arrested for murder, charged as adults, and pleaded guilty to manslaughter are being transferred from a juvenile detention facility to an adult prison.
Now that the three teenagers have been convicted as adults, judges and attorneys are currently debating whether they should be transferred to an adult prison. This decision is being carefully considered due to concerns that it may potentially infringe upon their Constitutional rights.
According to report, a judge in Orleans Parish has decided to transfer the girl from a juvenile detention center in New Orleans to the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in Baker. In anticipation of her arrival, eighteen women from the jail have already been relocated to Angola.
According to NOLA.com, the warden of the Baker facility stated during testimony on Monday that the staff has received training on how to effectively care for and educate juveniles.
