On Friday, June 7th, a multi-vehicle accident in Autauga County resulted in the tragic death of a 13-year-old from Tennessee, with three others sustaining injuries.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a teenager sustained critical injuries as a passenger in a 2016 Toyota Rav4 that was involved in a head-on collision with a sedan.

A second sedan hit the sedan that was involved in the initial collision. The first sedan then collided with a pickup truck after being hit by the second sedan.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., a crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 189 mile marker, which is situated approximately eight miles north of Prattville.

Sadly, the 13-year-old passenger who was involved in the Rav4 accident couldn’t make it and passed away after being taken to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, another passenger, a 14-year-old, sustained injuries and was admitted to a local hospital for medical care.

Both the Rav4 and the first sedan’s drivers sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for medical attention.
