27-year-old Woman Killed By Car In Virginia Survived By 2 Young Daughters

Mocobizscene – Support is growing for the two little kids who lost their 27-year-old mother over the weekend in Prince William County.

About 11:35 p.m., Carla Mejia, also known as Casey, was walking in the westbound lane of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge when a car struck her. Prince William County police reported Saturday, February 24.

According to authorities, the car that struck the victim did not stop at the scene near Bobcat Court. Firefighters and rescue personnel responded, and Mejia was pronounced dead.

NBC Washington reports that she had just exited the Elks Lodge. According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, Casey leaves two small kids.

The vehicle is thought to be an unknown Hyundai model. There was no further information available about the driver or the vehicle that collided.

Investigators from the incident investigation unit are urging anyone who observed the incident to contact the police.
