WAKA 8 reports hit-and-run accident in Montgomery resulting in driver fatality and two passenger injuries

The Montgomery police are currently investigating a hit-and-run collision that involved two vehicles, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to two others.

According to authorities, a distress call was made to the police at approximately 1:37 AM regarding an incident in the vicinity of the Midtown YMCA, specifically in the 3500 block of Carter Hill Road.

A Dodge Charger was discovered at the scene, where 23-year-old Jamauri Tyler from Montgomery was found deceased as the driver. The two passengers in the vehicle were transported to a hospital, with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

According to police, the driver of the second vehicle had fled the scene before officers arrived.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers at (334) 215-STOP is urging anyone with information to come forward to assist investigators in the case. No further details have been disclosed at this time.
