Vaughan Road shooting Tuesday night injures 2

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a gunshot on Vaughn Road Tuesday night that injured two people.

According to MPD, at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night, MPD and fire medics responded to the 7800 block of Vaughn Road for a disturbance and a subject shot. Authorities on the site discovered two adult males with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both males were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The MPD claimed that both guys were apprehended and identified one of them as Cruz Woodard, 31. Woodard was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Detention Center on a charge of second-degree assault. Following the additional inquiry, the second injured individual was not charged and was released.

According to the current inquiry, no additional information has been given.
