Police reported that a neighborhood in Montgomery, Ala. was hit by gunshots after an overnight party on Saturday, leaving at least 13 people injured.
Mayor Steven Reed revealed in a Facebook post on Sunday that a busy gathering in the North Pass locality of the city was shot at with over 350 rounds. Fortunately, none of the victims sustained life-threatening wounds.
A city spokesperson has reported that in a collision between a vehicle and pedestrians, three individuals sustained injuries, while a woman suffered minor injuries due to broken glass.
In a statement released on Sunday morning, Reed reported that a crowded party in the North Pass area was targeted with over 362 rounds of gunfire. The chaos that ensued resulted in nine people being wounded, with at least four more individuals sustaining injuries.
Currently, witnesses and suspects are being interviewed by officers from the Montgomery Police Department, ATF, and FBI.
Reed emphasized that they are making every effort to identify the individuals responsible and appealed to anyone who has information to come forward and assist them in putting an end to this senseless and violent behavior.
According to a report by the Montgomery Advertiser, a social media video captured a chaotic scene where numerous weapons were fired for approximately two minutes in an outdoor area of the event. The video shows crowds of people running for cover, as the gunfire continued.
