Prosecutors Sentence Second Suspect Involved in DC Murder as Sidewalk Shooter

 

Darquise Montgomery, a 20-year-old resident of the District, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the shooting death of Lee. The incident occurred in September 2020 while Lee was walking with a friend in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Prosecutors have confirmed this information.

Montgomery admitted his guilt for second-degree murder while armed in October. A 21-year-old named Kyrie Wells has already been given a 14-year prison sentence for his involvement in the murder, while Niko Hallo, who also pleaded guilty to the crime, is currently awaiting his sentencing.
