A man from Montgomery has been found guilty of murdering two individuals within days of each other in 2019. The verdict carries a life imprisonment sentence.
According to Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey, Elijah Reese, 21, was found guilty of two counts of capital murder and two counts of attempted murder on Friday. Elijah’s sentence is scheduled to be announced on September 7th.
According to reports, the initial murder took place on January 25, 2019, when 47-year-old Gregory Cole was fatally shot in the 4500 block of Delray Road in South Montgomery. The authorities confirmed the incident and noted that the victim was identified through official channels.
According to Bailey and the 2019 affidavit, Reese was taken into custody following White’s murder due to evidence found on his social media accounts and cellphone data, which suggested his possible involvement in the crime.
According to the district attorney, investigators obtained a search warrant that enabled them to find multiple firearms at Reese’s residence. Furthermore, they were able to match the shell casings found at both murder scenes with those recovered from the guns found at Reese’s house.
In a statement, Bailey expressed his happiness that justice was served to the families of Mr. Cole and Mrs. White. He believes that violent criminals like Elijah Reese, who show no regard for human life, have no place in their community. Bailey’s team will advocate for Reese to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. This is to ensure that Reese will never have the opportunity to harm or terrorize any citizen again.
