In a Florida crash, an Ashford lady was killed and a child was injured, according to the FHP

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala – Early this morning, a tragic accident took place in Jackson County, resulting in the loss of a woman from Ashford and serious injuries to three others, including a young girl.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Ashford woman was driving a pickup truck south on State Road 273 when it veered across the road’s centre line and collided with a sedan heading north, causing it to spin.

The driver of the sedan, a 57-year-old woman from Chipley, was severely injured.

The pickup truck then collided head-on with another truck behind the sedan. Sadly, the Ashford woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, lost her life in the crash.

The driver of the second truck, a 49-year-old woman, and her 6-year-old passenger, both from Chipley, suffered critical injuries and were also not wearing seatbelts, according to Troopers.

The accident occurred at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, leaving the community in mourning. Our hearts go out to the families affected by this terrible tragedy.
