HAMILTON COUNTY, TENN. – Their family and colleagues are mourning the deaths of two Hamilton County first responders who spent their careers rescuing lives on Tuesday.
Scobey Newman worked as a paramedic for Hamilton County EMS, while Ashley Murray worked as a dispatcher for Hamilton County 911.
SCOBEY NEWMAN
Newman previously worked as a flight paramedic with Erlanger’s LIFE FORCE, but has just returned to the ground with Hamilton County E.M.S. Many nearby law enforcement departments paid Newman respect in the weeks preceding up to his death, with images bearing the sign “I know Scobey!”
Here’s just one example from the Dunlap Fire Department’s Facebook page:
Many of our members worked many scenes with Scobey when he was a Flight Paramedic on LifeForce, whether it was a vehicle crash or a landing zone in a field somewhere. Scobey was always quick to work with us, or just give us a smile and wave as he walked to the aircraft.
We're thinking of Scobey's friends, family, loved ones, and partners today. Scobey provided decades of unmeasurable service to our community, and we will be forever grateful.
Thank you for your service, Scobey. We're better because of you. pic.twitter.com/BRsodVX4CN
