A drive-by shooting killed a 17-year-old boy in the Alton Park neighborhood of Chattanooga on Monday night, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

At 8:57 p.m., police were called to the 3700 block of Highland Avenue because someone had been shot. A news report said that the teen was shot when a car drove through the area and opened fire.

A previous news release said the event happened in the 270 block of Water Street, which is close by, but it was later changed to say the incident happened on Highland Avenue.
