Woman killed after car hits a pedestrian and crashes into Montgomery Co. Metrobus stop

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) – A woman was killed after a vehicle struck her Monday morning before colliding with a Metrobus stop in Montgomery County, according to authorities.

Officers from Takoma Park and Montgomery County police departments arrived shortly before midnight to reports of a pedestrian accident near New Hampshire Avenue and Glenside Drive.

According to authorities, a Nissan driving south on New Hampshire Avenue exited the road for unclear reasons and smashed into a Metrobus stop before coming to rest in a forested area.

Responding cops discovered a wounded woman on the side of the road, who was pronounced deceased at the spot.

Police say it’s unclear if she was at the bus stop or elsewhere when she was hit.
