Moms for Liberty was overwhelmed with joy last weekend, which is surprising since the organization was started by so much anger and outrage towards our education system in 2021.
I think the paradox is fruitful, both because it shows how the group became the new grassroots for conservatives, and why their message has resonated.
Two floors of the elegant hotel where the event took place were filled with bright floral dresses and hugs and laughter as attendees met and mingled. Many seemed to be experiencing that modern phenomenon of meeting a social media friend in real life for the first time.
The affair was also rather covert, as the media was not permitted into the breakout sessions where strategy was discussed, but can you really blame them?
