The tragic news of 26-year-old Dylan Weidenfeld’s death in a crash in Jersey City has left his family in deep mourning. The incident occurred early Monday morning, and the family is still coming to terms with the devastating loss.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutors Office, it was 12:30 a.m. on Monday when Weidenfeld was driving along Paterson Plank Road in Jersey City. At the same time, Ziyang Wang, 23, was driving in the opposite direction at an alarming speed of 100 mph, around a blind curve. The prosecutors office has confirmed that Wang has been charged in connection with the crash and was arrested on Wednesday.
According to reports, Weidenfeld passed away at the location of the incident.
According to his sister, Nicole Weidenfeld, her brother lived life to the fullest during his short time on earth. Despite only being 26 years old, he made the most of every moment.
According to Nicole Weidenfeld, Dylan was a joy to be around. He had a magnetic personality that lit up any room he entered, and his infectious sense of humor never failed to make people laugh. Dylan’s top priority was to have a good time, and that’s what he brought to every gathering.
According to her, Karen was the one true love of her brother’s life, although she did not provide any further identification for his girlfriend.
Nicole Weidenfeld fondly remembers how vibrant he always was, and how Karen’s presence seemed to bring out the best in him. “I had envisioned attending their wedding and watching our families grow together,” she said with a hint of sadness.
Margaret Davis, the artistic director of Plays-in-the-Park, expressed her deep sorrow over the passing of Dylan. For the theater community in Middlesex County and beyond, Dylan was not just a talented singer and actor, but also a dear friend to all at Plays-in-the-Park. His presence on stage and among them was always cherished, and his absence will be deeply felt. Margaret and everyone at the theater are heartbroken by the news of his loss.
On Tuesday, the funeral of Dylan Weidenfeld took place, leaving his family in a state of mourning. They are now sitting shiva and taking time to reflect on Dylan’s remarkable life. Dylan will always be remembered for his profound love for his family, passion for theater, and his dreams of marrying the woman he loved.
The crash not only resulted in the death of two passengers in Wang’s BMW but also led to a number of charges against him, including three counts of reckless manslaughter.
Both Wang and the female passenger sitting in the front seat, who are both 23 years old and from Jersey City, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to authorities, a 19-year-old female who was also a passenger in the backseat remains in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center.
Over the past seven years, eight individuals have tragically lost their lives on a particular hill along Paterson Plank Road. This section of the road is particularly dangerous due to a blind curve, which has led to numerous accidents.
