NYC First Frost Freeze Possible After Next Weekend’s System

Nevertheless, we should keep an eye on an upcoming system next weekend, regardless of its form. This week seems to be relatively quiet, with varying levels of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s (getting milder towards Thursday). However, we need to be aware of a robust front coming out of Canada, coupled with energy in the Southeast, as it could potentially affect the weather conditions in the coming days.
There is a possibility of a significant coastal storm if the two weather systems merge. However, if they fail to combine, a potent low-pressure system from the Great Lakes will be enough to bring down some cold air into the region. As a result, some areas in the Northeast may experience their first frosts and freezes.
