Police report fatal shooting of 18-year-old in Greensboro

On Saturday morning, a fatal shooting occurred, and the Greensboro Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Early Saturday morning, police officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 block of Rocky Knoll Road at approximately 3:48 a.m.

Upon arriving at the location, law enforcement officers discovered an 18-year-old male identified as Khasim Burgess, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Burgess was immediately transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Another person who had been shot arrived at a nearby hospital in a private vehicle. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.

At present, the police are conducting an investigation into the shooting, treating it as a homicide. Unfortunately, no information regarding the suspect is available at this time.
