One person killed and two others injured in Independence shooting and stabbing incident

According to KCTV’s report on Friday night, one person was confirmed dead following an incident involving a shooting and stabbing that the Independence Police Department responded to.

According to Jack Taylor, a spokesman for the IPD, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the vicinity of S. Osage Street and E. 40th Terrace at 6:10 p.m. in response to a stabbing incident.

According to reports, the individual responsible for the stabbing incident left the area on foot, heading southbound and crossing I-70 before entering a nearby residential area.

According to the police, there was a commotion between the suspect involved in the stabbing and a local resident in the 4200 block of S. Osage. Unfortunately, the situation escalated, and the suspect ended up shooting and killing one individual, and injuring another.

After the incident, the perpetrator made a quick getaway in a car.

According to the authorities, the individual who was stabbed and the second victim who was shot were taken to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries.
