According to authorities, a young man, aged 22, lost his life when police officers shot him after rushing to a 7/11 store on East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx following an emergency call.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, a shooting occurred. The New York Police Department reported that two store employees noticed a man pacing back and forth in the store for approximately 20 minutes before the incident took place.
According to the authorities, as per their investigation, one of the staff members went outside to have a conversation with a family member.
According to Benjamin Gurley, assistant chief at Bronx Borough Patrol, during a news conference on Saturday evening, upon the employee’s return, the male was seen standing behind the counter with another employee who appeared to be quite anxious.

According to the authorities, a family member of the employee quickly approached the police and reported that she witnessed the perpetrator stealing items from behind the counter.
Officials reported that the suspect was located near the coffee machines by two responding officers.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was shot once in the torso by the officer.
According to the NYPD, the suspect was found to be in possession of this kitchen knife, which was later recovered by the officers.
Gurley reported that the officers quickly provided medical assistance as soon as they arrived on the scene. They promptly called for emergency medical services to transport the perpetrator to Jacobi Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the perpetrator was pronounced dead at 3:14 p.m.
According to the police, none of the employees or officers were injured during the incident. Additionally, the responding officer will not face any repercussions and will continue with their duties as normal.
