Shocking: In Harlem shooting, community-beloved 65-year-old NYC man shot and killed

Sources have reported that a 65-year-old man, who was well-known and loved by his community, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting outside of his Harlem residence on Wednesday morning. The police have also confirmed this heartbreaking incident.

According to sources and police, Anthony Williams, who gained recognition for vending jerk chicken on the street, was present at West 142 Street and Lenox Avenue when an unidentified black car arrived and unleashed gunfire.

As per the NYPD, Williams was hit in the chest and rushed to Harlem Hospital in a critical state. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead later on.

Leah Middleton, the victim’s niece, expressed her sadness and admiration for her uncle, stating that he was a kind and friendly person who would often be found on the corner talking to people and selling food. She described him as a “good guy” and her words conveyed a sense of deep sorrow over his loss.

According to sources from the police department, it seems that the shooting was intended for a specific target.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the incident and no arrests have been made at this time, according to authorities.

Police taped off a tent on West 142 Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem after a shooting on Wednesday morning.

A tent had been set up by the police to cordon off an area on the street corner. Nearby, a makeshift memorial was created by the neighbors to pay their respects to the victim. It was a somber scene as the community mourned the loss.

As a child, Middleton shared a special bond with her uncle, who used to cook delicious breakfasts for the family. However, she is now at a loss to understand what caused the tragic shooting.
