A 52-year-old woman from New Jersey is already accused of attacking a 65-year-old man on a street corner in New York City with a kitchen knife without any reason. This week, she went to court and allegedly threatened to do the same thing to a judge if he tried to give her a long prison sentence.
“I’m going to slash you in the face too if you put me in the cell for a long time,” Ola Albanni told Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Miriam R. Best during her appearance in criminal court on Monday, according to the New York Post. During the hearing, she allegedly repeated the threat a second time before raving for almost a minute.
Because of the unusual series of outbursts, Judge Best ordered Albanni to undergo a mental evaluation.
According to the New York Police Department, at around 6:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, a woman was walking in front of a pizzeria on the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 38th Street when an unknown female assailant — later identified as Albanni — “approached and slashed her in the face with a large knife” before fleeing the scene on foot.
