Funeral conducted for 1-year-old who died from fentanyl exposure at Kingsbridge day care.

The tragic death of 1-year-old Nicholas Dominici left his loved ones and community members devastated. Last Friday, they came together to mourn his loss. Nicholas was exposed to fentanyl at a Kingsbridge daycare, which ultimately led to his untimely demise. The heart-wrenching incident has left everyone in shock and disbelief.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation at Davino Nino Day Care Center, where several children, including Dominici, were exposed to fentanyl. The investigation is still ongoing.

The heartbreaking situation has not only left the parents of those innocent child victims devastated but also everyone who is close to or far from the family.

Avilda Cordero, a child welfare advocate, explains that daycare centers offer parents a safe and secure place to leave their children while they go to work. Parents can trust that their children are in good hands, allowing them to focus on their jobs without worry. As Cordero puts it, “Then you come back and know that your child is not going to come back home, I mean, come on.” It’s a peace of mind that all parents deserve when it comes to their children’s well-being.

Grei Mendez, the owner of a daycare, and Carlisto Acevedo-Brito, who rented a room within the day care, are currently being held without bail on charges of federal drug trafficking and other serious charges, including murder.

Authorities are still looking for Grei Mendez’s husband, who is believed to have been involved in the fatal incident.

It is anticipated that Dominici’s burial will occur on Saturday morning.
